Hi Jeff,

This is just a heads up. Hope it helps.

The criteria that you are specifing are possibly (and likely)
contradictory. For example, if you choose to maintain the aspect
ratios of the original images, then a given matrix (7x14) and set of
border widths are sufficient to determine the aspect ratio of the
final montage. That ratio is not likely to match the aspect ratio
(2:3) of the 20x30 hardcopy.

Unless the aspect ratio of the images is a very special value, it will
be impossible to create a montage with a 20:30 aspect ratio if the
inter-tile spacing are specified to be the same in both the vertical
and horizontal dimensions, and if the outside margins are specified
to be the same in both the vertical and horizontal dimensions.

For example, suppose one chooses a zero width for both the inter-tile
spacing and outside margin, and suppose the original images have an
aspect ratio of 2:1, then the a 7x14 montage will have an aspect ratio
of 1:1

Or, suppose the the inter-tile-spacing is huge (many times larger than
the tile dimensions), and the margin widths are zero, then the aspect
ratio of a 7x14 montage will be approx 7:14

hth,
mike
