First, as a newbie to this mailing list, let me say hello to everybody.

Now... In my quest to prepare digital photographs for printing, I came across
the following excellent article:

http://redskiesatnight.com/Articles/IMsharpen/

I basically understand that the radius parameter in the -unsharp option in
ImageMagick's convert is dependent on the resolution of the target printer.

The company that is going to perform that actual printing only told me that
they print at 150 lpi (native resolution 300 dpi) on a Xerox iGen3.

My question (which that company wasn't able to answer) is: should the radius
parameter be calculated for 150 lpi or 300 dpi? In other words, if I use the
formula:

   radius = (output ppi / 30) * 0.2

Should I put 150 or 300 in the "output ppi" variable?

Thanks!
Sam

P.S. I tried to register to the ImageMagick Studio forum (
http://studio.imagemagick.org/discussion-server/ ), but for some reason it
keeps telling me that "you can now login" - without even sending a confirmation
email or actually letting me in. Seems like either a bug or for some reason it
refuses to register me. I couldn't even find how to contact the forum's
administrator. Any idea what's happening and how to solve the problem?
