| Hi. We've been using a command like this to convert SVG to PNG:
|
| convert -resize 1000x319 some_file.svg some_file.png
|
| However, the result is only OK.
|
| Specifically, it looks like the image was rasterised and then the raster
| scaled up to the size we want rather than being directly rasterised at that
| size.
|
| Is there any way the image quality could be improved?

You can improve the look of any vector format to raster format image
conversion using the same techniques details and demonstrated in
postscript to image examples...

IM Examples, Text to Image Handling
Postscript - Pre-formated Text and Graphics Input
      http://www.cit.gu.edu.au/~anthony/graphics/imagick6/text/#postscript

Basically set a higher -density before reading the image, then
reduce the image size using -resize afterward.

Also in future... Read the image BEFORE operating on it... Please!

See start of IM Examples, Basics for details as to why.
It will save you a LOT of trouble as your commands get more complex.
