| Hello
|
| I am assigned with the job of rendering of a truckload of metadata files
| onto a specific background. The rendering area is fixed. Is there any way I
| can use Imagemagick to help me out.
|
| convert -font /var/lib/defoma/x-ttcidfont-conf.d/dirs/TrueType/DBThaiText.ttf
| -fill white -pointsize 22 -draw 'text 17,65 "ªÁÀҾ¹µÃìãËÁèÅèÒÊØ´ËÅÒ¡ÃʪҵÔ
| ËÅÒÂàÃ×èͧÃÒÇ ·Ñ駨ҡÎÍÅÅÕÇÙé´ áÅзÑèÇâÅ¡"' Bg.bmp thai1.jpg
|
| I tried these but I want the text to wrap around which doesn't happen.

Not sure about your text in the above, you may be better reading that
text from a file.

The 'caption:' method will convert text into an image, fitting it with
word wrapping into the size given (just don't specify a -pointsize.

If you also use a 'transparent' or 'none' background, then the text
image can then be overlayed onto your fixed background image..

convert -font DBThaiText.ttf -fill white -background none \
           -size 100x100 caption:@text_file \
           -geometry +20+20 Bg.bmp +swap -composite thai1.jpg

OR
convert -font DBThaiText.ttf -fill white -background none \
           -size 100x100 caption:@text_file \
           -geometry +20+20 Bg.bmp +swap -flatten thai1.jpg

The 100x100 is the size of the area to fill with text.
The +20+20 is the offset for the text on the background.
The text_file is the file containing the text to use
If that is '-' then the text is read from standard input.

WARNING: do not have a final newline in the text_file or IM will also
add a blank line at the end of the caption: image.

See caption, in IM examples
   http://www.imagemagick.org/Usage/text/#caption

If wordwrapping is not wanted use label: instead.
