Yeah, probably that's it :)

But if you are saving to JPEG, try the "-quality" option that will
save you lots of bytes at the expense of some visual quality. Also,
strip any unwanted meta-data from file such as thumbnails, EXIF,
comments, etc. The "-strip" option will remove it all.
