I'm trying to reduce the number of bytes in an image. I can easily convert the bmp to jpg and the size to something reasonable, but the number of bytes is still large, around 300kb for a simple image! Am I missing something? Possibly a whole chunk of knowledge about how images work?
Yeah, probably that's it :) But if you are saving to JPEG, try the "-quality" option that will save you lots of bytes at the expense of some visual quality. Also, strip any unwanted meta-data from file such as thumbnails, EXIF, comments, etc. The "-strip" option will remove it all. -- Bruno Schneider http://www.dcc.ufla.br/~bruno/ _______________________________________________ Magick-users mailing list [email protected] http://studio.imagemagick.org/mailman/listinfo/magick-users
