Thanks alot Anthony... But I am still having troubles. I checked the *.la files and there is no path given, just the *.so-filename. So I think he has to search in the same dir. Both files (the *.la und the *.so files) are in /usr/lib/ but I still get this message a million times while I "make" IM:
libtool: link: warning: `/usr/lib/gcc-lib/i486-linux/3.3.5/../../..//libtiff.la' seems to be moved I can't understand, what a wired path this is and where "make" get it from. But make install di= | d. | | I am so confused. | The *.la files are text files giving details about where a library is located and what other librarys and paths to those library are needed. It is created and read by the libtool program, and only used during compliation of new libraries and programs using those libraries. That is during the make. Basically that error means that libtool was not able to trce libraries >from the the paths in these *.la files. that is the library is not in the same location as when the .la file was created. The fix is to go into the .la file and manually 'correct' the paths. A typical example is that the libtiff.so library with a libtiff.la file was built in /usr/local but is now located in /opt instead.
