| Hi,
|
| When resizing images using IM, I notice that the file size of some of them
| is much more higher than when resizing the same image using PaintShop Pro
| even though I use the same image size and compression. Is there a command I
| should use in order to decrease the file size?
|
| Here is the code I currently use :
| system("exec 2>&1; convert $file -resize 400x500\> -quality 70 -density
| 72x72 $newname");
|
-quality for JPG is dependant on the implementation
Photoshop quality would be different to IM (Jpeg library) quailty.
Prehaps someone would like to grab a standard test image
such as 'lena' from
http://www.imagemagick.org/Usage/montage/polaroid_index2.html
and graph file size vs jpeg compression
for Photoshop and IM (using the jpeg library)
It would make an interesting graph that people would find very useful.
(Note exact photoshop and jpeg library versions with graph)
I can't do this, as I don't use windows or photoshop.
