Dear All,

I have images which have an embedded ProPhoto RGB profile and I want to convert them to an implicit sRGB profile for use one the web with browsers that are not colour management aware (e.g. IE and Firefox).

By "implicit" I mean that the individual numbers representing pixel RGB components correspond to what we expect in the sRGB profile - however there is no embedded profile in the image.

I cannot find a way of doing this at all with ImageMagick, I can convert *to* the sRGB colour profile, however this is not what I want. It embeds the colour profile in the image. If I then strip out the colour profile (which is what FF essentially does - it "assumes" sRGB) it looks totally wrong.

I'm essentially trying to get things to look "right" between Preview (which *is* colour managed and displays the files with profiles correctly) and Firefox (which is not colour managed and ignores profiles).

I suspect that this is a lost cause as the colour managed case takes into account the monitor profile whereas the unmanaged case does not. [*]

Any ideas?
