Wrote a small test script. The harness calls a routine which reads in a
fixed file (model.gif from the demo), writes it to a fixed file name
(output.png), undef's the IM variable, then returns. Looking at the status
after each executed statement, a file handle is opened up to the default
directory, and no place else.
Modified script so that it writes it to a File::Temp file name. Now it
opens up a handle to that File::Temp file, and the handle closes after the
file name goes out of context; IM is irrelevant.
So it looks like everybody is doing what they are supposed to be doing, and
my script is just stupid buggy. Sorry for bothering everyone.
