Hi all, I am new to ImageMagick so please forgive me if this is a silly question. I have many tiff files from a scientific camera that are supposed to be grayscale images stored with a 32 bit depth per pixel. I can open them in ImageJ with the ImageIO plugin (has 32-bit TIFF capability). However, when I try to use ImageMagick to convert them to some other format (e.g., PNG) I get a black image. The output from the verbose identify command is below. The image can be retrieved from:

Sincerely, --Ryan Image: test2.tif Format: TIFF (Tagged Image File Format) Class: DirectClass Geometry: 1024x256+0+0 Resolution: 256x256 Print size: 4x1 Units: PixelsPerInch Type: Grayscale Endianess: MSB Colorspace: Gray Depth: 32/16-bit Channel depth: gray: 16-bit Channel statistics: gray: min: 0 (0) max: 1 (1.5259e-005) mean: 0.0111618 (1.70318e-007) standard deviation: 0.105058 (1.60308e-006) Histogram: 259218: ( 0, 0, 0) #000000000000000000000000 black 2926: ( 65537, 65537, 65537) #000100010001000100010001 rgb(0.0 015259%,0.0015259%,0.0015259%) Rendering intent: Undefined Interlace: None Background color: white Border color: rgb(223,223,223) Matte color: grey74 Transparent color: black Page geometry: 1024x256+0+0 Dispose: Undefined Iterations: 0 Compression: None Orientation: TopLeft Properties: create-date: 2008-04-28T15:39:32-07:00 modify-date: 2008-04-25T14:31:34-07:00 signature: 43b651ea65cb881ff5fb361975396040a6a5cb6d630d83dfa55746e5d97e73fa tiff:rows-per-strip: 2 Artifacts: verbose: true Tainted: False Filesize: 1.00037mb Number pixels: 256kb Version: ImageMagick 6.4.0 04/27/08 Q16 http://www.imagemagick.org test2.tif=>test2.png TIFF 1024x256 1024x256+0+0 DirectClass 16-bit 2.39063kb 0.6 88u 0:01 convert: test2.tif: unknown field with tag 33821 (0x841d) encountered. `TIFFRead Directory'. convert: test2.tif: unknown field with tag 33825 (0x8421) encountered. `TIFFRead Directory'. _______________________________________________ Magick-users mailing list [email protected] http://studio.imagemagick.org/mailman/listinfo/magick-users
