I have two machines. One development OS X and one production FreeBSD one. I use the same version of ImageMagcik/RMagick and the same TTF font.
The problem I have is that on the OS X machine it all looks ok but when rendering the font on the FreeBSD one it doesn't look ok. The font is right but the rendering of it is very poor. Very thin and unsharp. I installed the font with fontconfig and it looks ok if I lit the fonts with convert -list font. What could cause this? I assume it gets rendered by FreeType.
