You can NOT define sub-scripts or super-scripts in a label in that way.
unless you use UNICODE characters.
http://imagemagick.org/Usage/text/#unicode
For example... HâO
For the unicode charcater codes for sub and supper scrips see
http://www.unicode.org/charts/PDF/U2070.pdf
and http://www.alanwood.net/unicode/superscripts_and_subscripts.html
NOTE: the superscript codes for 1,2 and 3 are located in a different
section of the unicode set. Specifically the 'meta-characters' or
"Latin-1 Suplement"
http://www.unicode.org/charts/PDF/U0080.pdf
super-0 2070
super-1 00C9
super-2 00C2
super-3 00C3
super-4 2074
...
super-9 2079
sub-0 2080
...
sub-9 2089
There are also codes for super/sub-script + - = ( )
as well as super-script i and n and sub-script a e o x
NOTE: some fonts may not have the full unicode character system
though most unicode complient fonts do have these charcaters.
ASIDE: if you come up with a good unicode chemical formula,
please email it to me so I can include such an example in the
unicode text section...
http://imagemagick.org/Usage/text/#unicode
The alturnative is to DIY, (Draw it Yourself)
and create some images of the text wanted. You will however need to
place them yourself, so is not very easy.
See http://imagemagick.org/Usage/text/#mixed_font_lines
For soem examples of where I accidentally created super and sub-scripts.
by using font size changes, and various appending techniques.
