We are using Jmagick with one of our applications, and found that each time we roll out the application on a different server we need to compile Imagemagick from source each time to get Jmagick to work. A few questions: The process currently is; uninstall any rpm installation, compile imagemagick from source, then compile Jmagick from source. A) Should this be happening? Should we need to be compiling imagemagick from source before being able to use jmagick? B) If it is not what should to happen, what should be happening, and what could be the possible causes? We are also attempting as a solution to compile the imagemagick/jmagic libraries statically with the app. The idea that it uses these libs instead of the system libs. However there seems to be problems here as well, but its early days yet. Are there any alternative solutions, what can anyone think of that might be occurring that we should be looking into. The environments are RHE & RHFedora & WinXP.
