..er..I didn't mention ISO-8859. How is UTF-8 supported with fonts?
Which API's and fonts should be used? In particular, on a linux box
(CentOS 5.2)?

I assumed the iso10646-1 fonts would work as they seemed to be
designed for UTF-8.
