Doesn't make any difference at all (I was mistaken; I did have depth
set to 8 already). The watermarked image is still multiple times
larger than the unwatermarked image. The result also comes out as
DirectClass instead of PseudoClass 256c.

I can't figure out how to change the input logo file to Pseudo. A saw
a couple threads saying -type palette will do that, except it doesn't
actually work.
