Thanks to all users that have replied to my question, I have applied all suggestion but the best result that I have produced is this image: http://img706.imageshack.us/img706/7601/foxd.png
of 742 bytes (not 725), if I remove the transparent background I am able to obtain a good Face image. I have applied the option -colors 16 to obtain this image from original: convert fox.png -geometry 48x48 -colors 16 -strip fox2.png The strange (for me) thing is that if I apply -colors 15 I obtain an image of 930 bytes (bigger in size).
