Just noticed that magit-diff-smaller-chunks and magit-diff-larger-
chunks are broken, presumably due to these changes.

Ok, so I did something slightly more ambitious: First using --
numstat to
get a quick overview and then running the full diff when the section
is
shown.
There are a ton of regressions because of this change, and I hope I
can
fix the worst of them quickly. But please try this out on your big
changesets as well and tell me what breaks!
If things are broken too badly, I can move this to a branch...
