One thing I don't love so much is what happens when I visit a
remote
directory and do a magit-status. Any chance of a fix for that?
I have a couple of patches that should make Magit work with Tramp,
but I
don't use Tramp myself, so I couldn't decide what to do...
We have one ingredient already: running git always with the "--no-
pager"
option.
What else is needed?
There's two problems:
1. magit uses shell-file-name to run commands. But there may be no
such shell
on remote site.
I think I have fixed that now in master. Now git is never run via the
shell, which was the wrong thing to do anyway. Please try!
Thanks for working on this!
I'll try to get to it, but fair warning: it probably won't happen
soon. I'm currently buried in other things.
