Yes, with 's'. From the 'Staging and Committing' section of the manual: If the region is active when you type `s' or `u', only the changes in the region are staged or unstaged. (This works line by line: if the beginning of a line is in the region it is included in the changes, otherwise it is not.) You need to be using transient-mark-mode. -- Hannu
