From: Ben Walton <[email protected]> Hi All,
I'm packaging magit for OpenCSW[1] and also for my local RHEL5 machines. I've created a .spec file that may be of use as part of the project, so I'm submitting it here (in autoconf'd form). To ease the install step in the spec file, I hacked in support for '--with-site-start' to allow the user to specifiy where to place the auto-load .el file. My intended use for this is RHEL5, which uses /usr/share/emacs/site-lisp/site-start.d. Additionally, the last patch ensures that the correct version of automake is used. Versions prior to 1.10 didn't set $builddir, which was seeing the rules in the %.elc target fail when automake 1.9 (the version shipped with RHEL5) was used. I hope you find these patches useful. I'm willing to tweak them if you have issues too, so feedback is welcome. Although I've only started using magit myself, it looks quite promising as far as every day use for me, so thanks for all your effort on it.
