I am trying to install magit and notice that it wants to install a file 50magit.el to $prefix/etc/emacs/site-start.d. This file has an autoload command. What is this and is it needed? I do not have a site-start.d directory and to my knowledge I've never needed on for any other mode. Usually I just copy the *.el and *.elc files to a directory on my lisp path and the info files to a directory on my info path and I'm ready to go. Will this work for magit or is that 50magit.el really need?
