Hi Mile, It's worth noting, we're probably pretty soon going to implement some changes to Page layouts, as discussed on this forum post: https://mahara.org/interaction/forum/topic.php?id=5360
Specifically, we're thinking of implementing Mike Kelly's "custom layouts" scheme: http://mikekelly.myblog.arts.ac.uk/2012/01/31/new- version-of-custom-layouts-in-mahara-workflow/ So you might want to hold off on doing much work on changes to the layout code, until this change comes through. :) That said, I was toying with the idea of making Layouts into another plugin type, which would probably facilitate this change. Or at least, we could maybe set up some kind of site-level config option for specifying which column-sizes are available on the layout page. I find I'm using the existing 3-column with a much larger centre column for layouts that have a navigation block on the left. It looks neater and more compact than the simple "larger right column" but I could use the extra space of a "much larger column" for content such as tables. I'm using these for self-assessment and find I'm always running out of room. Is this a bite-sized improvement that might be achievable quickly?
