Since I received this notification yesterday, I decided to test the issue since we have recently upgraded to 1.6 I believe it may no longer be an issue - it's OK in Internet Explorer 8 and Firefox 19. I'll check some other browsers and report back. Marion

Descriptions contains accented characters were fine but tags were not. If I enter accented characters in tags and try to save, it does not move from the page and does not save. If I remove the accented characters, Mahara behaves normally. I've tried this on several images and IE9 and Firefox 18. Since I first posted this in the support forum, I've had another look. I had entered a placename (two words) as a tag and I wondered if the problem was caused by spaces but I've eliminated that. Also if one tag is entered which has an accented character, everything is fine. If a second tag is entered with or without an accent, Mahara seems to stop. I attach a screenshot.
