I think, in the case of comment threads (i.e. feedback) it might be better if, rather than being fully threadable the same as forums, they were slightly simpler and only the top-level comments were threadable. Sorta like Facebook's current subthread functionality.
In other words, if you post a comment on a Page, that comment will have a "reply to" link that will cause a subthread to that comment, and other people can post comments on that subthread or on the Page itself. But, comments within the subthread will not have a "reply to" link. So, only 1 level of subthreads is possible.
