Since jQuery 1.9 introduces various breaking changes (http://jquery.com/upgrade-guide/1.9/) the safest bet would be to upgrade to 1.8.3. jQuery UI should also be updated. Their API is also in flux so it would be safest to upgrade to 1.9 (1.10 starts to remove deprecated features - http://jqueryui.com/upgrade-guide/1.9/#api-redesigns).
