What about only showing the author, if his profile is visible to the viewer? This would hide the the author when he publishes the page in most cases, except when he publically shared his profile. On the other hand, it doesn't make sense to link to the profile if the viewer can't see it anyways. Plus it's easy to realize, suggested patch following
