I am seeing this with Mahara 1.9.1 on Safari 8.0.2 on OSX 10.10.1 Yosemite. We are seeing the same "red error" message (viewed in pdf.js issue #3262). Another user tried to load the page and had a red error (in a small banner) appear saying the PDF could not be loaded (Safari). Then they tried Chrome on the same computer (2013 macbook pro) and the first of three inline PDF's loaded (each under 1mb). The other two below remained grey without loading the PDF.
