User's name is not displayed when sending a message

Bug description:
Seen on mahara 15.10.0, tested in default and Ocean

When I send a user a message (multirecipientmessages turned on), I
don't see the name of the user, but only the closing X. When I add
another user, I can see their name without problems.

  To replicate:

  1. create 3 users on the site
  2. click on one and select "send message"

Expected result: You load up the message composing screen, and the
user's name is visible as an item in the "From" field

Actual result: As expected, except that the user's name is not visible
in the "From" field. Instead, there is only a square with the delete
  icon.

Other users manually added to the From field at this point are
  displayed correctly.
