Distorted profile pics in pages

Bug description:
Version 16.10.3
User profile pics are taken from Moodle. MNet integration.
The pics are shown correct in user profile overview
If the user creates a page and adds a block with profile information
the pics are distorted. See screens.
I tried to replicate it on the system and the same happend with my pics.
I tried to replicate it on an other system (same version) but there all was
ok.
I checked the settings for picture resizing but they are standard.
Any ideas?
