When you receive a notification from another user and reply to them online by having clicked the link in your email, then the resulting page is the old activity page but not the multirecipientnotification page that includes the notifcation nav bar. To replicate: 1. Send PersonA a message. 2. Check the email for PersonA and click the link to the message. 3. Reply as PersonA to the message. Expected result: You see the normal notification navigation bar (see attachment inbox_correct.png). Actual result: You don't see the navigation bar (see attachment inbox_missing_elements.png). You end up on /account/activity/ instead of module/multirecipientnotification Everything is correct when you reply to the message directly online not having clicked on the link in the email.
