Hi Dirk, I have tried again and still can't reproduce.
What version of mahara are you using? master? or 1.3? Would you be able to attach the files /artefact/file/mobileupload.php and /artefact/file/lib.php and /auth/user.php >From these files I can trace it and see why you don't seem to have your uploads counting.
