Good info for those who have a mouse, Francois. ;-) My trackpad doesn't middle click (unless I'm in Ubuntu and then I can make a three-finger click though not in virtualization mode).

I would amend this by saying: The user may want to choose as some people see it as bad usability (cf. http://www.useit.com/alertbox/990530.html ) to open new links in a different browser window / tab.
