Hi Francois, I did some more testing. 
It's the stripping of the initial zero that is causing the problem. %d works 
just fine. %#d is causing the problem.

Couldn't you do the reformatting without using the operator? 
I switched back to %e now and it's working again. Didn't remember to change the 
settings in the German language pack as well. 
By the way the localisation of the dates is not working properly. The written 
name of the month is still displayed in English :( Should I file another bug 
report concerning this?
