Along the same lines ... Do mail editors/viewers use special characters to wrap a line to the configured length or they simply insert a newline?
Sometimes is rather annoying to have messages going back an forth between two 'editors' with different settings. After a couple of ping pongs the previous messages embedded in the body look like they went through a shredder. I had thought about having a sort of 'weak' and 'strong' carriage returns. The previous entered by the editor to fit the wrap, the latter by the CR key.
