hi

would it be extremely complicated to implement a delayed deletion of
messages on the server (POP)?
It would be good to:
- set a time limit for messages to be kept, so that at each download
messages older than the set limit are deleted without asking
- delete the messages automatically on the server (next time you connect)
if they have been deleted in M
I guess that this may complicate life with multiple downloads, or with the
implementing of a way to avoid them.

The preliminary to the above is that I had a little but annoying problem. I
have the M logfile in /tmp For another reason my / partition filled up and
I don't know why, but all the messages I downloaded from the pop server
where as the attached one.

May be I am seeing a connection where there isn't one, but ...

Is M checking if the downloaded message (stored in one of its folders)
corresponds to the one still on the server before deleting it?
My experience above would support a negative answer.

Please be aware that I am not trying to make a fuss or anything. M is a
good tool and getting better by the day and I am not too upset about my
lost messages, but I think that it is important that joe user can be
assured that he is going to get his mail, guaranteed.
I agree that this was a freak accident, but they do happen :o)

Ciao
