Hi Guys, OK, I killed a small tree and printed out the buglist. About 127 bugs and 72 A4 pages long :-) :-(
My thinking is it is pointless worrying about bugs in old versions so if it is a bug still in current version ie Claire, I'll worry about it else close it. I can only test on Win2K so will have to rely on you guys for other ports. Anything that is of a "wishlist" / "feature request" will for the moment be ignored. Stability / making current stuff work comes first over adding new stuff. Does that seem reasonable? Given the buglist currently extends over 4 years or so, I'm going to prioritise older over newer. Lets make it look like the bug list is only recent stuff :-) :-) I am completely ignoring stuff in the CVS TODO list / other text files. Thats Vadim's problem LOL ;-) I will have to experiment as to the rate of assigning stuff. I certainly am not aiming for a Bug du jour but maybe closer to a bug du (what is week?). I am keeping an eye on the CVS list so if I see you fix something in the list I have not gotten to, I'll try to cross it off / close it. I know there are a few bugs that seem to be similar but I do not have any idea of how many unique bugs there are. Certainly >100 so if we could get to about two bugs a week, it is still a year long project. Of coyurse it will be quicker I know since there will be parallel efforts going on but there may also be setbacks so we can only try. Until I read this tree I won't be able to say much more but how do you guys feel about this? Am I on the right track or do you have any ideas to put forward?
