As I happen to be the only one concerned with standards and unix mailboxes at the same time, I wrote patch that adds checkbox into global options that can be used to disable hidden "folder internal data" message in unix mailboxes. This is meant to resemble similar feature in Pine. The message is still being created by default though, users must manually disable it.
