i'm seeing it somewhat randomly, in messages from various folks. i believe
it's a display glitch; the messages are fine in my courier spool.

in general, i'm seeing part of an attribution line and then a bazillion blank lines
inserted before the rest of the message.

i kept meaning to bring it up, but Michele beat me to it.
