i'll take this as a sign i should start using the text viewer, then. in general, i
don't care to have html output automagically inflicted on me (unless there's an
option to suppress automatic dereferencing of things like <img src=...>.)
the default viewer is doing some other funky things right now, i'll see if the
text viewer is doing those things correctly.
