 You need to look at MailFolder class in M sources. It provides the
abstract interface for any mail folder, i.e. mail message store. There are
probably some missing functions for news groups but they could be added.

 Everything is possible, this included. But there will be some work to do,
this is not something you can do in one day or even one week.

 I'd obviously welcome any improvements in M functionality. In the "worst"
case having news reading support alongside the existing functionality would
be already nice. In the best case, maybe the current UI for the mail
folders could be improved too in the process.

 So I'd definitely welcome any contributions but it would be better to
discuss them first.
