This part was referring to the message header list blanking even though there are more than enough messages in the current folder to fill the header list.
I no longer see this behavior. About a week ago I resized the message header list (drug the partition down a few lines, reducing the message text window). The blanking of the header list has not occurred again. I have tried to find the old spot, but cannot do so yet. FWIW, the window/frame size I had when the problem occurred left a partial line showing at the bottom of the list; I would guess about 6.5 or 7.5 lines. The new size of the header list is 10 full lines. I can no longer reproduce this problem at will. I hope the description above gives you some help when you next look for this problem.
