Oops! I broke the MBX mail folder for my most active Linux Users Group. I looked briefly for the RFC for MBX to try to fix it, but couldn't find it. Here's what happened:
1. I tried to read the last (most recent, unread) message in that folder but Mahogany didn't like something in the message so it aborted. 2. I used vi to look at that MBX file (749,323 bytes big) and removed two odd characters (represented in vi as "~Y"). 3. I restarted Mahogany but it now cannot open that folder and locks up the M process. Clicking either button in the "cannot open" dialog does nothing so I killed M's process. I see there are some numbers at the top of the file. Do I need to adjust these to reflect the new size? Is there a hidden utility to rebuild MBX files?
