Could you please: 1. run regedit 2. look under HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.pdf 3. follow to the string in the (unnamed) value of this key, i.e. here it is AcroExch.Document 4. describe what do you have under HKCR\AcroExch.Document\shell\open Thanks! With the additional information it's clear that the problem is related to the DDE so I might at least be able to formulate some hypotheses.
