I may be using the wrong terminology here,
since that phrase was not a proposal but a
description of current functionality.
Oh I see: I said "ctrl-shift" not "ctrl-space". Sorry.

Try this.
Go to the middle of a folder view with many msg headers.
Press ctrl-space.
Now press ctrl-down.
Now press PgUp.
You will see the PgUp take place in the folder pane.
This is I think is good.

I am proposing three changes.
i. We should not need to ctrl-down to get this functionality.
The ctrl-space should suffice.
ii. It should be repeatable.
iii. Related to (ii), we should not be forced to preview the msg
selected by the PgUp action.

In short, I am suggesting that when automatic preview is turned off
(by ctrl-space), that PgUp and PgDn behave just like ctrl-PgUp and
ctrl-PgDn. Why? Because it is intuitive: with preview turned off,
it is not intuitive that the msg preview is manipulable.

Even if you disagree with the proposal, I think the current
behavior (described above) embodies an inconsistency.

Cheers,
Alan
