Oh I see: I said "ctrl-shift" not "ctrl-space". Sorry. Try this. Go to the middle of a folder view with many msg headers. Press ctrl-space. Now press ctrl-down. Now press PgUp. You will see the PgUp take place in the folder pane. This is I think is good. I am proposing three changes. i. We should not need to ctrl-down to get this functionality. The ctrl-space should suffice. ii. It should be repeatable. iii. Related to (ii), we should not be forced to preview the msg selected by the PgUp action. In short, I am suggesting that when automatic preview is turned off (by ctrl-space), that PgUp and PgDn behave just like ctrl-PgUp and ctrl-PgDn. Why? Because it is intuitive: with preview turned off, it is not intuitive that the msg preview is manipulable. Even if you disagree with the proposal, I think the current behavior (described above) embodies an inconsistency.
