so far so good.  I've noticed two things: when I am reading from inbox
and delete the last message in my inbox (unthreaded) the system sits
there rapidly redrawing a highlight over where the last message had
been.  It's almost as if you're going over the end of an index and
it's getting confused.  Related to this is that occasionally mahogany
starts consuming 100 percent of the CPU.  The only way to get out of
it is to change mailboxes at which point it returns to sanity and
consumes its relatively low 2-3-4 percent CPU utilization

it's getting closer!
