This is a query for those using Vim as their external editor:
is it possible to call Vim with the --remote option so
as to use an open Vim to edit mail? If so, how?

I had guessed:
c:\programs\vim\vim61\gvim.exe -c "so $VIM\vimfiles\mail.vim" --remote %s
but that does not work. (Vim opens a file that has the right name but is
empty and Mahogany does not wait for Vim to close this file.)

The reason:
in one location I am accessing a networked Vim,
and it takes some time to open. I'd like to
open it before I start on my mail and then
use the same Vim repeatedly without closing it.

Thanks,
Alan
