I have just discovered the existence of M, which I liked very much
  at the first glance.

I'd like to perform a network installation, where the following
  conditions must be met:

1- address book should be shared among all users
2- users should easily roam from one workstation to another
3- workstation setup should be as simple as possible. (ideally just
add a desktop shortucut to M, that sits in a networks share)

My current setup is windows clients with pop3 server and samba
server, but I can add an IMAP server if needed.

Has anyone already tried a setup like this?

  Thanks for your patience.
