(I apologize if this message appears twice -- it didn't seem to work
the first time I tried to send it.)

I can't figure out why I didn't see these problems earlier, but I
have encountered a number of serious problems with the latest win32
snapshot. Many basic features of the program have stopped working.

Most importantly, virtually none of the items on the Edit menu
work -- clicking on the menu options simply has no effect. This
applies to the Preferences item as well, which makes it virtually
impossible to change any options.

In addition, clicking on the "Help" option crashed the program. It
generated a crash report file which I can send along if you want.
Incidentally, the way that the help functions even when it is working
is annoying -- it seems to somehow be "linked" to the main Mahogany
window. Attempting to task-switch to Mahogany instead task-switches
to the help window. It would be preferable if the help window were
entirely separate from the Mahogany window. In addition, the help
has no index, which makes it extremely difficult to locate information.

I have a suspicion that these problems are related to the "install"
mechanism for the win32 snapshop -- that is, I believe that simply
copying the M.EXE file into the install directory is causing the
executable to become out of sync with the rest of the program settings.
(It is also possible that the "update" that this new M.EXE does on the
first startup is incomplete.) I say this because I have experienced
similar menu-not-responding problems with other programs, and it
turned out to be caused by some kind of jumbled install (missing or old
DLLs, etc.).

I attempted to uninstall Mahogany and reinstall the 0.65 release
to get back to a working version. However, the uninstaller does not
completely uninstall the program from the registry. After reinstalling, I
was unable to run Mahogany; it popped up a dialog box saying "the
previous installed version was newer than this version". It shouldn't
know anything about any "previously installed" version, because I
uninstalled that. I had to manually go into the registry and delete the
Mahogany-related keys. The uninstaller needs to completely uninstall
the program.
