[M-User] Compiling for cygwin - can precompiled wxWidgets be used ?

in build_win.txt I read, for compiling under cygwin  :

g++ 3.x can not compile Mahogany currently, so I used g++ 2.95.3. As compiler
version should be the same when compiling both wxWindows and Mahogany, we should
use g++ 2.95.3 for compiling wxWindows as well ...

 

I have only found gcc v.3.3.3-3 and v 3.4.4, but these fail to compile wxWidgets -

can I use the pre-compiled version, and do these compilers now go on to compile Mahogany ?
