 This shouldn't be a problem though. If you look at the file makerules you
can see that there is an "ifdef YACC" there and if configure didn't detect
YACC this ifdef should make a rule which just copies an existing
(pre-yacc'd) file instead of running yacc. And I still have no idea why
didn't this work for you (which was why I asked for the value of YACC in
your makeopts).

 Sorry, I've never used btyacc so I have no idea whether it can be used
with this file. I'd advise installing bison which should be provided by
your distribution (if you're under Linux) and is available in source form
for any system.
